The Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM lens, isometric view. For an ultra wideangle prime, the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM isn't too big and bulky, and not too heavy either at 280g. While you can use it on a smaller APS-C body for a 38mm equivalent angle of view, it won't balance quite so well - as demonstrated by the images above, it's a much better

The RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM’s broad zoom ring has a step-up in size roughly at its mid-point, which makes it easy to identify and differentiate from the manual focus ring that is further forward. Both have a smooth, easy action. At the far end, close to the front element, the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM has a dedicated control ring.
Distortion. Ultra-wide zoom lenses tend to suffer from rather hefty image distortion and that's also true for the EF 16-35mm L. At 16mm it produces a strong degree of barrel distortion which eases the further you zoom towards the long end. At 20mm the situation is already improved (1.6%) and there's only a minor bit left at 26mm (a bit wavy

The falloff of the 16-35mm f/2.8 L improves at f/4, and remains the same at smaller apertures. It has has strong falloff at 16mm at f/2.8. The gray shots are of my Expodisc. This is a deviously tough test which shows even the slightest falloff. Except at 16mm at f/2.8, you'll almost never see this in normal photography.
This is a test of the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM Autofocus Zoom Lens on a star field. This is Canon's very expensive, top-of the line zoom lens that costs about $1,450. The constellation of Cepheus is near the center of the frame, and Cygnus is in the upper right corner. This is the full frame image at 20mm of focal length.
