So anyone that is wondering on a BMW E60 CCC SYSTEM. Button sequence to get into AUX mode if you have a busted video card is: once system is booted up after a few seconds, on the idrive knob. Click down once, up twice, the turn the knob to the right three clicks. This should be highlighting the aux on the system. Then just click the I drive knob. I'm not aware of a dealer installed iPod option for the '08 5 series. Flip the iDrive controller over and remove the bottom-most black plastic cover. There are 3 clips on one side and two on the other. I used the screwdriver to unclasp the clips. Below the cover you’ll expose bottom end of the ribbon cable. The brown clip on the connector holds tension on the cable. Radio control module (CCC) had to be replaced. $1,400 part, $300 labor. these parts are in short supply. good luck!
